Built in the 1850’s, this lovingly restored grand building – with its conservatory, reception room, courtyards and outdoor bar – is the perfect choice for your event, no matter the season. Offering a unique blend of old-world elegance and modern style, as well as stunning views of the Ruahine and Kaweka Ranges, The Old Church truly is in a class of its own. A place of sophistication, celebration and unforgettable events.
Weddings
Lucky enough to call The Old Church home, we believe there’s no better wedding venue in all of Hawke’s Bay. The courtyards, manicured gardens and generous outdoor bar lend themselves perfectly to open-air ceremonies, with the conservatory offering a beautiful wet weather alternative. Drinks and canapés are served under the sun, or in one of our stunning indoor spaces, before your guests are guided towards the reception, set beneath the grand chandelier in the main dining room.
As a venue set up specifically for events and weddings, you and any chosen suppliers will have unlimited access to the property from 10.30am day-of, for set up and styling purposes. With no lunchtime service to contend with, our team will be here for you, and only you, as you prepare for your big day.
The Villa
Set amongst the peaceful surroundings of The Old Church gardens, this beautifully restored historic villa is the perfect on-site accommodation option; a space of unrivalled luxury, privacy and comfort. Renowned for its character, charm and opulent furnishings, it offers a stunning blend of history and indulgence – the perfect place to relax before, or wind down after, your function at The Old Church. Able to sleep up to eight guests, the villa hosts four double bedrooms, each with its own private en-suite bathroom, making it ideal for wedding couples and VIP guests, event organisers, guest speakers and other significant attendees.
The Villa can be hired in conjunction with any event you wish to hold, and is available at our standard accommodation rate of $1,600.00 incl. GST per night.
Corporate Functions
When it comes to hosting a great function, you can’t go past The Old Church. With its impressive grounds, beautiful rooms and breathtaking views, you can be sure your event will be one for the books. Renowned for delivering the complete hospitality package, our team of highly-skilled chefs, stylists and service experts will ensure your event – be it a gala dinner, a multi-day conference or a large-scale private party – goes as smoothly and enjoyably as possible. Long-standing experts in our field, we coordinate everything from start to finish, keeping your brand, brief and budget at the forefront of everything we do.
